Community

Some recent photos:

A poet in the Vietnamese Community of Syracuse, Vinh Dang writes his experiences of leaving Vietnam for future generations. He is quite an extraordinary scholar, and I had the chance to hear him read some of his poems in Vietnamese, French and English during one of his English lessons, which mostly consist of poetry translation.

The Saigon Hair Salon, while Vietnamese in ownership and employment, does most business outside of the Vietnamese Community. There are always customers waiting.

Doing homework while waiting for customers in her parents' restaurant is the lifestyle for the children of many business owners. The place served Vietnamese food and Kimchi, and were kind enough to let me come over for their New Year festivities of food and gambling candy.
